The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has officially confirmed the deaths of two Filipino nationals in Israel.
The victims died as a result of recent acts of violence attributed to Hamas actions against Israel.
In a statement released by the DFA, the Philippine government unequivocally condemned the killing of its citizens and all other acts of terrorism and violence in the region.
The agency said that the Philippines stands firmly against any form of violence, and that it calls for a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict.
"The Philippines condemns the killing of two Filipino nationals and all other acts of terrorism and violence as a result of Hamas actions against Israel," the DFA statement read.
The Philippine government expressed its commitment to work with other countries and international organizations toward achieving a long-lasting and peaceful resolution to the conflict.
"The Philippines is ready to work with other countries towards a long-lasting resolution to the conflict, in accordance with pertinent UN Security Council resolutions and the general principles of international law," the DFA stated.
"The Philippine government will continue to provide all possible assistance to distressed Filipino nationals in Israel and Palestine," the DFA assured.
