As of 5PM today, the Incident Command Post reported that 43 individuals have been successfully rescued, while 27 lives were lost in the recent boat incident. The tragedy occurred in Binangonan, Rizal, on July 28, 2023.

After an intense search lasting over seven hours for possible additional victims of the capsized boat, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Red Cross (PRC) have jointly decided to conclude the UNDERWATER SEARCH AND RESCUE/RETRIEVAL OPERATION at 1:30PM today.

However, the SURFACE SEARCH AND RESCUE/RETRIEVAL OPERATION will continue tomorrow, July 29, 2023, as authorities strive to find any remaining missing individuals.
