35 PH-Japan Key Deals Inked During PBBM Visit

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was in Tokyo on Friday to witness the signing of 35 investment agreements between the Philippines and Japan. The deals aim to strengthen the long-standing alliance between the two nations and range from wiring harness manufacturing to hotel construction, transportation, healthcare and renewable energy projects.

Among the notable agreements signed were the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and business deals with companies such as Brother Industries, DoubleDragon Corporation, Itochu Corporation, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, and Toyota Motor Corporation.

Other agreements include a joint venture in healthcare, logistics and warehousing, and education, as well as a housing project and a demonstration project for smart mobility. The deals are expected to bring new opportunities for growth and development for both the Philippines and Japan.

The President’s visit to Japan aims to further strengthen the relationship between the two nations and is a testament to the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the Philippines and Japan. The two countries have a history of strong ties, with Japan being one of the largest investors in the Philippines and a key player in promoting economic growth and development.
