5.5 Quake hits Agusan del Norte

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the province of Agusan Del Norte on April 24, 2023, at around 05:32 PM. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake's epicenter was located 21 kilometers north of Nasipit, with a depth of 35 kilometers.
The tremor was felt in Cabadbaran City in Agusan Del Norte with an intensity of IV on the PHIVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale, while Surigao City in Surigao Del Norte registered an intensity of II.
PHIVOLCS advised the public to remain calm and be prepared for possible aftershocks. They also reminded residents to follow safety protocols and evacuate to designated areas in case of any emergencies.
The agency is closely monitoring the situation and will release updates as necessary.
