A lucky player from Davao Del Sur has claimed the Lotto 6/42 grand prize, worth P35,314,806.60, after correctly guessing the winning combination of 34-24-02-06-33-07 during the live draw via PTV 4 on January 17, 2023.

The winner, a 63-year-old senior citizen, purchased the winning ticket from a lotto outle in Davao Cityt. She claims to have never worked in her life and her only source of income is her late husband's SSS pension. Every Sunday, she serves as a lector commentator at church.

During an interview, the winner revealed that she had been paying attention to the numbers 07 and 02, which represent her birthday, and the other four numbers, 34-24-06, and 33, just came to mind, so she began shading them. She believes that miracles occur for those who are in need, and winning the lottery will bring significant change to her family's life.

The winner expressed her gratitude to the PCSO and to God for the blessings she has received. Under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, a 20% tax will automatically be deducted from the jackpot prize.

The PCSO also reminds winners to secure their tickets and write their name and signature at the back, as well as to avoid wrinkling, folding, or tearing the ticket. The barcode must be intact and readable, as it is essential for ticket validation.

The winner has one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize; otherwise, the winnings will be forfeited and added to the PCSO Charity Fund.
