76ers Superstar Embiid wins MVP Award

Philadelphia 76ers' star center Joel Embiid has been named the recipient of the Michael Jordan Trophy as the 2022-23 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player.
The announcement was made on Monday by the National Basketball Association (NBA). Embiid had a stellar season, leading the 76ers to the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
Embiid is the first player to win the Kia NBA MVP Award with the 76ers since Allen Iverson in the 2000-01 season. He received 915 total points, including 73 first-place votes, to beat out Denver's Nikola Jokić and Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo for the prestigious award.
In addition to Embiid's MVP award, several other players were recognized for their outstanding performances during the season.
Denver's Jokić finished second in the voting with 674 points, while Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo finished third with 606 points. Boston's Jayson Tatum, Oklahoma City's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell rounded out the top five in the voting.
