The Seoul Seongbuk Police Station has reported the untimely demise of renowned actor Lee Sun Gyun. Responding to an emergency call, authorities discovered an unconscious man inside a parked car at Seoul's Waryong Park on December 27.

The distressing call came from a woman reporting that her husband had left home after leaving behind a note hinting at self-harm.

Confirming the identity of the deceased as Lee Sun Gyun, the police expressed their condolences. Evidence of lit charcoal briquettes inside the car raises concerns that the actor's passing may be a result of suicide. The investigation is ongoing.

Lee Sun Gyun had been under police scrutiny since October for alleged illegal drug use.
