In an update on July 30, 2023, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported the discovery of the aluminum boat used by the four missing rescuers in Barangay Fuga, Aparri, Cagayan. The boat was spotted floating in the waters off Calayan Island by the MV Eagle Ferry, approximately seven miles away from the island, according to the Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon.

Meanwhile, extensive aerial and surface search and rescue (SAR) operations continue in the aftermath of Typhoon #EgayPH, in hopes of locating the four missing PCG rescuers who disappeared during the storm on July 26, 2023.
