In its latest weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Mindanao and selected areas in Luzon are expected to experience varying degrees of rainfall due to the combined influence of the northeast monsoon (Amihan) and the easterlies.
Mindanao is set to encounter scattered rain showers and thunderstorms as a result of the easterlies. The weather bureau advises residents in the region to prepare for possible disruptions caused by these weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, known locally as Amihan, is anticipated to bring rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon. PAGASA warns of moderate to heavy rains in these areas, heightening the risk of flash floods and landslides.
For Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon, the northeast monsoon will result in light rains. PAGASA assures that while these areas may experience precipitation, no significant impact is expected.
MIMAROPA, Bicol Regions, and Visayas are on alert for the possibility of localized thunderstorms, leading to sudden and temporary afternoon to evening showers. Residents are advised to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions during these weather events.
The rest of the country can expect isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms. Additionally, strong winds and rough seas are forecast over Northern Luzon, with the rest of Luzon experiencing moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
In other regions, winds are expected to be light to moderate, accompanied by slight to moderate seas.
