Manila, Philippines - In a show of commitment to fighting financial crimes, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) recently reinforced their partnership during a courtesy visit held at Camp BGen Rafael T Crame on May 31, 2023.

The AMLC delegation, headed by Executive Director Atty. Mathew M. David, was warmly welcomed by PNP Chief, Police General Benjamin C Acorda Jr. The visit served as a platform to emphasize the strong collaboration between the two organizations in their joint efforts to combat money laundering and other financial offenses.

During the meeting, General Acorda expressed the significance of the occasion, stating, "This meeting signifies the commitment of both organizations to upholding the rule of law, preserving the integrity of the financial system, and ensuring the security of the nation."

The AMLC has played a vital role in assisting the PNP in dismantling criminal networks, disrupting the flow of illicit funds, and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Through collaborative operations, information sharing, and capacity-building initiatives, substantial progress has been made in combatting money laundering and related offenses. However, the ever-evolving nature of financial crimes calls for continuous vigilance and further collaboration.

Furthermore, the PNP announced its dedication to strengthening its partnership with the AMLC. The PNP aims to enhance its capabilities, improve intelligence gathering and analysis, and streamline investigative processes. By closely working with the AMLC, the PNP intends to identify emerging trends, exchange best practices, and develop targeted strategies to effectively dismantle the financial networks of criminal syndicates.
In line with its "Serbisyong Nagkakaisa" initiative, the PNP encourages greater collaboration between the AMLC and local law enforcement agencies. Strengthening partnerships at the grassroots level will enable the PNP to address regional and community-based financial crimes more effectively. Through this joint effort, a network of vigilant officers committed to protecting the financial system and preventing the misuse of funds for criminal purposes can be established.

General Acorda expressed his gratitude to the AMLC delegation for their presence and reaffirmed their shared commitment to fighting money laundering and preserving the integrity of the financial system. With determination and unwavering dedication, the PNP and the AMLC will continue to safeguard the nation from the scourge of financial crimes.
