'Apag': A Gripping Crime Drama on the Consequences of One's Actions

"Apag" is a gripping crime drama film that revolves around a hit-and-run accident that leaves a tricycle driver named Matias dead.

Rafael, the son of a prominent businessman, is responsible for the accident. Rafael's father, Alfredo, sacrifices himself in place of Rafael when the victim's widow, Nita, files a criminal case against them.

Years pass, and Rafael is left with a burden of guilt, for keeping the truth from Nita and for having his father suffer the consequences of his mistake.

The film is directed by Brillante Mendoza and produced by Center Stage Production.

It stars Coco Martin, Lito Lapid, Jaclyn Jose, and Gladys Reyes, who won the Best Actress award at the first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The film's theme song, "Paralaya" composed by Andy Alviz, also received recognition as the Best Original Theme Song at the Summer MMFF.

The movie's plot takes the audience on an emotional journey, portraying the struggle of a son who is trapped between his responsibility towards his father and his desire to come clean to the victim's family.

The film's storyline brings to light the consequences of one's actions and the impact it can have on individuals and families involved. It showcases the complexities of life and the sacrifices people make to protect their loved ones.
