Asian Games Medalists To Receive Presidential Recognition And Incentives

The Office of the President, in collaboration with the Presidential Communications Office, is set to host the 'Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat Para sa Bayaning Atletang Pilipino' (Night of Recognition and Thanksgiving for Filipino Athlete Heroes) at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on October 25, 2023.

This event, organized by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., is dedicated to honoring the 33 Filipino medalists who showcased outstanding talent and determination at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Malacanang said that these athletes have not only brought glory to the Philippines but also inspired the nation with their extraordinary achievements.

The 33 Filipino medalists will be presented with the esteemed Presidential Citation, recognizing their “unwavering commitment and excellence in their respective sports.”

In a statement, the Presidential Communications Office said that the athletes’ remarkable performances in the Asian Games have not only raised the nation's spirits but have also contributed to increasing interest and awareness of sports among the Filipino youth and aspiring athletes.

Each of these athletes will also receive substantial incentives. The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), through the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), will provide a total of 19.1 million pesos in incentives to these champions. Additionally, the Office of the President will contribute a collective 22.8 million pesos.

Students from various schools, colleges, and universities in Metro Manila will participate in a musical celebration featuring performances by the talented Konsyerto sa Palasyo artists and musicians.
