In response to the International Criminal Court's (ICC) decision to investigate the drug war probe during the Duterte administration, Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa expressed that he had expected this move from the ICC.

He acknowledged the consistent interference of the ICC in the country's domestic affairs and said that he would allow them to proceed with their actions, as the Philippines has no control over their decisions.

When asked about the possibility of the ICC issuing a warrant of arrest, Senator Dela Rosa asserted that he would not hide and would comply with the warrant if it was served by the Philippine government. He expressed reservations about foreign entities interfering in the country's affairs, implying that the Philippine government should be the one handling any legal matters involving its citizens.

He emphasized his stance on not being apprehensive if the Philippine government decides to arrest him, but he seemed apprehensive about the ICC authorities coming to the country to execute an arrest. He believed that such actions would cause significant disruption and create unnecessary chaos.

Regarding the potential impact of the ICC decision on his travel to other countries, Senator Dela Rosa expressed caution. He stated that he would avoid traveling to countries that are friendly to the ICC to prevent any possibility of being arrested outside the Philippines where they have no control over the situation.

When questioned about allegations that Vice President Sara Duterte is part of the ICC's drug war probe in Davao, Senator Dela Rosa dismissed the claims as politically motivated. He questioned the basis of these allegations, citing that they seemed to be aimed at targeting the Duterte family and attributed the cases to political maneuvering rather than genuine investigations.

Concerning his confidence in the Marcos government's protection, Senator Dela Rosa pointed out the consistent stand of President Marcos, stating that the government has been unwavering in its assertion that the ICC has no jurisdiction in the country. He expressed hope that the government would remain consistent in this position, suggesting that any change in stance could lead to potential complications.

Despite the ICC's decision, Senator Dela Rosa appeared unfazed and expressed indifference, saying that he doesn't care about their actions since they showed no regard for the Philippine government's request to hold the investigation. He suggested that if they ignore the government's stance, the government should likewise ignore them.
