President FerdinandMarcos Jr. met with former President Rodrigo Duterte at the Malacañang Palace on Wednesday evening, where they discussed the latter's recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

During the meeting, President Marcos and his Cabinet members, including Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Special Assistant to the President Secretary Antonio Lagdameo Jr., National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, and Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil, welcomed Duterte who was with Senator Christopher Go and former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

The two leaders had a one-on-one discussion upon Duterte's arrival, later joined by the cabinet secretaries, Go, and Medialdea. The meeting covered various issues, and former President Duterte offered valuable advice to President Marcos.

President Marcos expressed optimism that the initiatives taken by the former president would strengthen Philippines-China relations and assist in resolving differences between the two countries.
