Comedian-host Boobay, the Filipino comedian, suffered a "silent seizure" during his guest appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."
The incident occurred while Abunda was discussing Boobay's career achievements, including his recent win for Best Supporting Actor at the Saskatchewan International Film Festival.
Boobay, whose real name is Norman Balbuena, initially appeared calm during the interview but suddenly became "unresponsive".
The host and the show's crew immediately rushed to his aid, and the program went on a short break to allow the comedian to receive medical attention.
After a few minutes, Boobay came back on air and assured Abunda and the viewers that he was okay.
He explained that he had not been feeling well the day before and may have lacked sleep, which might have triggered the seizure.
Boobay also shared that he is taking steps to manage his health and make sure he is in top condition for his various commitments. He emphasized the importance of getting enough rest, proper nutrition, and exercise to stay healthy, especially in the demanding world of show business.
The incident has generated support from Boobay's fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Many have praised his resilience and bravery in continuing to work despite the challenges he faces.
Boobay has appeared in numerous television shows and films. He is also one-half of the popular duo The Boobay and Tekla Show, which airs on GMA Network.
