In a recent post on social media platform X, race driver Bianca Bustamante expressed deep remorse for inadvertently liking a tweet that sparked controversy. In her apology, Bustamante acknowledged the mistake, attributing it to an accidental scroll, and emphasized that she promptly unliked the tweet upon realization.
Bustamante, who grew up with her brother diagnosed with Autism, passionately disavowed any support for Ableism and clarified her commitment to understanding the challenges faced by the Autistic community. She underscored her personal connection to the topic of Autism, emphasizing that she takes it seriously and personally.
Addressing fellow racer Lance Stroll and anyone offended by the incident, Bustamante offered sincere apologies, asserting that she does not endorse or support Ableist comments. In an unusual move, she shared a glimpse into her personal life, revealing her seldom-discussed connection with her brother who has Autism.
In the apology, she expressed her profound regret to the entire Autism community, hoping for understanding within the racing community that the incident was a genuine accident.
