China Asserts Sovereignty Amidst Maritime Disputes

In a recent statement, the German Foreign Minister expressed concerns about the escalating situation in the West Philippine Sea, emphasizing Germany's commitment to a rules-based international order. The remarks specifically highlighted China's actions and the recent clashes between Chinese and Filipino vessels in the disputed region.
In response, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, addressed the comments, asserting China's clear and consistent position on the matter. Mao Ning emphasized that China is dedicated to resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation with the countries involved. Furthermore, China expressed its willingness to collaborate with ASEAN countries to uphold peace and stability in the region.
However, Mao Ning firmly stated that China would staunchly defend its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
The spokesperson underlined that non-regional countries have no right to interfere in the maritime disputes between China and the Philippines.
