The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police has released posters featuring the photos of the six accused who are believed to be responsible for the disappearance of several sabungeros at the Manila Arena.
The release of the posters follows the recent issuance of a Warrant of Arrest for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention against the six security guards who were involved in the case. The CIDG has distributed the posters nationwide, posting them in all PNP units, places of convergence, social media, and the website of CIDG.
The move is aimed at garnering public support in locating and apprehending the accused, who are believed to be in hiding.
In a statement, Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr. expressed his hope that the posters and information provided by the public would expedite the arrest of the accused. The CIDG Director also urged the public to come forward with any information that could help them in their investigation.
The Manila Arena case (Case 1) is one of the eight cases currently being investigated by the CIDG through the Special Investigation Task Group "Sabungero". So far, the criminal complaints filed by the CIDG in cases 1 and 8 (Lasco case) have been deemed to have probable cause by the courts, resulting in the issuance of arrest warrants.
