The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has issued traffic violation tickets to two drivers involved in the EDSA Bus Lane incident linked to Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.

The drivers appeared before MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes, who ordered the penalties for violating EDSA Bus Lane regulations.

During the proceedings, the drivers confessed that Senator Revilla was not present in their vehicle when flagged down, and he is not the owner of the vehicle.

The apprehending officers admitted relying on the driver's statement without personal verification of Sen. Revilla's presence.

Atty. Artes welcomed the development, emphasizing the ongoing agency probe to identify procedural lapses in EDSA Bus Lane implementation.

The MMDA imposed a P5000 penalty on the drivers for violating the EDSA Bus Carousel Lane regulation, leaving the decision to file charges against them to Senator Revilla.

Pending investigation, Atty. Artes implemented preventive suspension against New Task Force Special Operations Unit Head Bong Nebrija for erroneously implicating Sen. Revilla in the incident.

Artes clarified that Nebrija's suspension was not due to performing his duties but for going "overboard" during the operations.
