LA Tenorio, the former professional basketball player, has been declared cancer-free. Te announcement was made by Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone during a press conference for Gilas Pilipinas. Tenorio suffered from Stage 3 colon cancer.

The news came after Tenorio's latest PET scan (positron emission tomography), which took place in Singapore. Cone said "We just got really good news. His last PET scan he took today September 19,2023. He is in Singapore right now. And he is cancer-free."

Tenorio has successfully completed his chemotherapy sessions and has received medical clearance to resume practice in just a matter of days.

Coach Cone, filled with admiration for Tenorio's determination, even considered him for the Asian Games roster. However, Tenorio was not included on the list submitted to the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee.

Cone lamented this, saying, "The only problem is LA is not on the list. We can't include you in the national team. But I would have put him on the Asian Games team if he were on the list because he knows our system more than anybody."
