Comelec Sets Deadline For Party Registration For 2025 Elections
Intramuros, Manila - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) set the deadline for the filing of petitions for the registration of political parties and party lists in preparation for the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections.
All interested groups seeking registration are advised to comply strictly with the guidelines outlined in Comelec Resolution No. 10673, titled "Guidelines on Electronic Filing, Conduct of Hearings/Investigations/Inquiries via Video Conference, and Service."
The deadline for the submission of Petitions for Registration is set for December 29, 2023. This deadline applies to three categories: (1) Political Parties, (2) Coalitions of Political Parties, and (3) National, Regional, or Sectoral Groups or Organizations intending to participate in the Party-List System of Representation.
Comelec emphasizes that all interested parties must adhere to the provided guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process. It is essential for groups to prepare their petitions and supporting documents ahead of time to meet the deadline.
The reception of verified petitions will take place during regular working hours, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Mondays to Fridays, excluding holidays. Interested parties are advised to submit their petitions within this timeframe to the Office of the Clerk of the Commission.
