Creamline Defeats Choco Mucho; Cignal Beats Akari

Creamline, the reigning champions of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, proved to be a force to be reckoned with after overpowering Choco Mucho in a one-sided match that ended in a 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 victory.
The Cool Smashers’ relentless attacks and tenacious defense allowed them to secure their third straight win and the solo lead in the conference eliminations held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday.
Jema Galanza, Michele Gumabao, and Ced Domingo each scored 15 points, while Tots Carlos added six points, and Pangs Panaga helped control the middle with Domingo.
The huge Tuesday crowd witnessed Creamline turn their much-hyped Valentine’s Day encounter with their sister team into a one-sided show, leaving Choco Mucho struggling to convert their shots while their passing left much to be desired, leading to a number of miscues and thwarted plays.
The defending champions broke away from a three-way tie for the lead with Chery Tiggo Crossovers and F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, securing a 3-0 slate with their dominating win.
In another match, Cignal survived Akari’s furious first set fightback, endured a back-and-forth duel in the next, then took control of the third to fashion out a 25-23, 25-20, 25-14 victory and break an early spell in the conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The HD Spikers showed great mental and physical stamina to deal with the Chargers in the last frame, pulling away midway through on a series of attacks from all angles. They wrapped up the hard-earned one-hour, 38-minute win on two Akari service miscues.
