Devastating Fire Engulfs Over 50 Houses In Brgy. Salvacion, Molo; Appeal For Aid For Affected Families

In a tragic incident, a raging residential fire swept through Zone 3, Brgy. Salvacion, Habog-Habog, Molo district, at 4:42 a.m. on December 16, leaving more than 50 houses in ruins.

The rapid spread of flames, fueled by the lightweight construction materials, resulted in the destruction of 64 houses and partial damage to 2 others, affecting a total of 72 families. Sadly, three fatalities have been reported, while no injuries have been recorded.

Baluarte Elementary School has been designated as an evacuation center for the displaced families, who are grappling with the aftermath of the devastating blaze.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded promptly, escalating the situation to fourth alarm at 5:02 a.m. Control was established by 5:53 a.m., and the fire was declared completely extinguished at 6:59 a.m. The Iloilo City Fire Station dispatched 15 firetrucks and 3 ambulances to combat the flames.
