DFA Announces Voluntary Repatriation For Filipinos In Israel

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Thursday October 12, 2023, that the alert level in the war-torn Gaza Strip has been elevated to level 3.
With the alert level raised, repatriation of Filipinos is now considered voluntary, providing them with the option to return to the Philippines if they so choose.
As of October 11, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega reported that no Filipino nationals in Israel have requested repatriation.
However, the situation is different in Gaza, where the number of Filipinos expressing their intent to return home has been steadily increasing.
To date, approximately 70 Filipinos in Gaza have expressed their desire to be repatriated to the Philippines.
