In a thrilling showcase of exceptional athleticism and teamwork, De La Salle University (DLSU) emerged triumphant as the champions of the Shakey's Super League National Invitationals. The final match witnessed an outstanding performance from DLSU, overpowering their opponents and clinching victory with a remarkable scoreline.
The championship match pitted DLSU against a formidable opponent, Adamson University (ADU). From the first serve, it was evident that DLSU was determined to assert their dominance. Their impeccable coordination, powerful spikes, and strategic plays allowed them to secure three consecutive sets with impressive scores: 25-19, 25-22, and 25-17.
A standout player throughout the tournament, Shevana Laput of DLSU was awarded the coveted title of Most Valuable Player (MVP). Laput's exceptional skills, strong presence on the court, and consistent performance contributed significantly to her team's success.
The individual recognition continued to pour in for DLSU players, highlighting their exceptional talents in various positions. Angeline Poyos earned the title of First Best Outside Spiker for her dynamic attacks and ability to deliver crucial points. Thea Gagate, a force to be reckoned with at the net, was celebrated as the First Best Middle Blocker. Amie Provido, displaying outstanding defensive skills, was recognized as the Second Best Middle Blocker.
Angelica Alcantara's expert setting skills were acknowledged with the Best Setter award. Her precise and well-timed sets played a pivotal role in creating scoring opportunities for her teammates. Bernadett Pepito's exceptional ability to read the game and make crucial defensive saves earned her the title of Best Libero.
Shevana Laput's versatility was on full display as she also received recognition as the Best Opposite Spiker, further underscoring her significance to the team's success.
