DMW Asserts Commitment To OFW Safety And Welfare
The Department of Labor and Employment's (DMW) issued a statement today regarding the Kuwait government's decision to suspend the issuance of new entry visas for Filipinos. This development has sparked concerns for the welfare and safety of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the country.

In the statement, the DMW expressed their commitment to labor diplomacy in ensuring the welfare and safety of OFWs while awaiting further details on the reasons and issues behind the Kuwait government's decision. They also affirmed their unified, whole-of-government approach to the situation, working closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait (PE-Kuwait).

Furthermore, the DMW emphasized that they are coordinating with Philippine recruitment agencies, Filipino communities and leaders, and other stakeholders to address the situation in the best interest of all concerned parties. They also assured everyone that they stand ready to assist OFWs affected by the Kuwait government's action.

In light of this development, the DMW encourages affected Kuwait-bound OFWs to connect with them directly through the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) hotlines at 09567821309 and 09603532532 or to email nrco@dmw.gov.ph for assistance.
