In an official statement released on June 26, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla will be taking a 10-day wellness leave, starting immediately. The statement cited personal reasons for the Secretary's decision to take time off.

During the Secretary's absence, the DOJ reassured the public that its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice will not waver. The department's officials and employees will continue to carry out their duties and responsibilities diligently, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

The DOJ emphasized that there will be no interruption in its vital functions and responsibilities, particularly in safeguarding the rights of every Filipino citizen. Despite the Secretary's temporary absence, the department remains fully dedicated to fulfilling its mandate and serving the people.
Respecting the Secretary's privacy during this period, the DOJ requested understanding from the public. They urged everyone to refrain from speculating on the personal reasons behind the wellness leave and to allow the Secretary the space he needs.
