The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to file complaints against three vloggers who conducted an exclusive interview with former Bureau of Corrections (BUCOR) Chief, Bantag.
The vloggers, known as Banat By, Boss Dada TV, and Coach Oli, are facing legal action for their interview, which DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla deemed disrespectful to the court proceedings.
Secretary Remulla clarified that the vloggers were well aware of the arrest warrant issued against Bantag by the Regional Trial Courts of Muntinlupa and Las Piñas City. Bantag is accused of masterminding the murder of broadcaster Percy Lapid. Despite this, the vloggers proceeded with the interview, prompting the DOJ to prepare complaints against them.
"We are currently preparing the complaint against the vloggers for contempt of court because such actions are prohibited. It is clear under the law that individuals should not use such language. This behavior constitutes disrespect for the court and the legal process," stated Secretary Remulla.
The DOJ emphasized that the vloggers' actions were a violation of the law and undermined the integrity of the judicial system. The filing of the complaints aims to send a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated and that everyone is expected to respect the legal proceedings and uphold the rule of law.
