The office of Senator Risa Hontiveros has formally requested the Department of Justice (DOJ) to issue an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) against Apollo Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), who is currently under investigation for allegations of human trafficking.

In a confidential letter addressed to Jesus Crispin Remulla, Secretary of the Department of Justice, Hontiveros emphasized the need for the ILBO to ensure Quiboloy's presence in the country during the legislative inquiry scheduled for January 23, 2024.

Hontiveros filed Senate Resolution No. 884 on December 11, 2023, initiating a probe into the alleged human trafficking activities associated with the KOJC. On the same day, she delivered a privilege speech on the matter, both of which were referred to the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, which she chairs.

Expressing her commitment to upholding justice and due process, Hontiveros conveyed her strong desire for Quiboloy to be physically present at the Senate hearing. In her letter to Secretary Remulla, she stated, "In the interest of justice and due process, it is my strong desire to ensure that he will be physically present in the Senate for the hearing."

The Senator further expressed her support for the Department of Justice's efforts against human trafficking and thanked Secretary Remulla for considering her request.

The immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, if issued, would serve as a preventive measure to keep Quiboloy within Philippine jurisdiction during the investigative proceedings.
