As part of the celebration, a drone show by Dronetech PH, the city's supplier, took place. However, the show encountered an error in the formation of the Philippine flag, wherein the colors red and blue were mistakenly interchanged. Marikina City Government, led by Mayor Marcy Teodoro, condemned the incident and is taking legal action against Dronetech PH to determine the company's legal responsibility, including possible penalties and fines.
In response to the incident, Dronetech PH issued a public apology, acknowledging their grave mistake in the drone show programming. The company clarified that the error could have been rectified if not for severe weather conditions and signal interference during the testing phase. They assured that proper protocols will be implemented for future shows and emphasized their lack of malice or ill intentions towards Marikina City and the Philippines as a whole. The drone show mishap, while unfortunate, has not overshadowed the triumphs and unity displayed by young athletes during the 63rd Palarong Pambansa. Mayor Marcy Teodoro expressed the significance of playing together, building camaraderie, and promoting unity, making it a memorable event despite the unfortunate incident.
