The Department of Foreign Affairs has disclosed that a Filipina has reached out to the embassy, expressing her distressing suspicion that her husband is among those held captive by armed individuals in a video circulating on social media, possibly en route to Gaza.

The woman said she recognized her husband in a video on social media. In it, a man is held at gunpoint and is likely brought to the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian territory bordering Israel under Hamas control.

The embassy has relayed this information to the Israeli military, though they remain unable to independently verify the identity of the man featured in the video.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Teresita Daza earlier stated that there were 29 Filipinos that were initially reported missing, but 22 have now been rescued by Israeli security forces.
