Kennedy Nakar, an internet personality and Boys' Love (BL) actor renowned for his role in the series "Lakan" and "Bawal na Game Show" has passed away at the age of 24 after battling complications from leukemia.
Nakar's health struggles were revealed through his social media posts over the past month, where he shared his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
He said he had been admitted to the hospital on June 3, 2023, with critically low and unstable blood components. Diagnostic tests, including a Bone Marrow Aspiration and 2D-Echo to check his heart, led to the diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Nakar's condition rapidly deteriorated, with his heart being affected by collected liquid around the pericardium. He underwent multiple procedures, including the insertion of a pericardial catheter, but the aggressive nature of the disease necessitated immediate chemotherapy.
On July 26, Nakar's partner, Paul Cervantes, took to Facebook to confirm the passing of the actor. In his post, he also shared a video from Nakar's wake.
Rainbow Cabanatuan Inc., an organization close to Kennedy, posted a message on Facebook, expressing their sorrow over the loss of their ally and friend.
They highlighted Nakar's unwavering dedication to the LGBTQ+ community and his efforts to promote equality, inclusivity, and love. His passion for creating a world without judgment made a profound impact on many lives.
