The Embassy of the Philippines in Ankara is actively providing assistance and support to Filipino evacuees who have been displaced by the recent earthquake in Turkey. The Embassy has also provided financial assistance to Juliva Benlingan, a Filipina who was previously reported missing, and who is now recovering in an Adana hospital. The Embassy team has also visited temporary church shelters to provide relief goods to distressed Filipinos in affected provinces.

As displaced Filipinos continue to arrive at the shelter in Ankara, both transported by the Embassy and on their own volition, the Embassy is focusing on the welfare, recovery, and return to normalcy of those affected.

The Ambassador has personally visited the shelter in Ankara to assess the needs and requirements of those housed there, including appropriate medical treatment for those in need.

The Embassy is deeply appreciative of the critical role that the Filipino Community plays at the shelter and is working closely with volunteers from the hospitality industry to provide food assistance to Filipino-Turkish families who have chosen to remain in Antakya and to the Philippine Humanitarian Contingent in Adıyaman Province.

In addition, the Office of Civil Defense of the Department of National Defense has donated relief items, including blankets, bonnets, and gloves, which have been distributed through the Turkish Red Crescent's Regional Logistics Center.

The Embassy remains open for any and all information, which may be sent via telephone and WhatsApp (+905345772344), email at ankara.pe@dfa.gov.ph, and Facebook at www.facebook.com/PHinTurkey. The Embassy is ready to mobilize and respond to emergencies affecting Filipinos in the region, as the need arises.
