In the midst of escalating tensions in the Israel-Palestine conflict, five Filipino citizens have gone missing.
Philippine Ambassador to Israel, Pedro Laylo, Jr., confirmed that two of the initially missing individuals were found hiding in safe rooms during the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) clearing operations.
The fate of the remaining five Filipinos remains uncertain, with Laylo stating that efforts are underway to verify their whereabouts, while closely coordinating with the IDF.
Israel, home to an estimated thirty thousand Filipinos, witnessed a surprise attack in Gaza on Saturday where approximately 300 Filipinos were reported to be residing and working.
IDF Spokesperson LTC (Res.) Jonathan Conricus said that more than 700 Israelis were killed and over 2,100 wounded, most of whom were civilians.
