MANILA - The Philippine national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, has officially unveiled its pool of players for the upcoming FIBA World Cup 2023. With a roster featuring a mix of seasoned veterans and promising young talents, the team aims to make a strong statement on the global stage.
The 21-man pool comprises some of the country's finest basketball stars, showcasing a combination of local and international talents.
Among the notable names in the lineup are Dwight Ramos, Chris Newsome, Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, Rhenz Abando, Jordan Heading, Roger Ray Pogoy, Scottie Thompson, Jamie Malonzo, Thirdy Ravena, Japeth Aguilar, Poy Erram, Carl Tamayo, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Justin Brownlee, June Mar Fajardo, Kai Sotto, Ange Kouame, AJ Edu, Jordan Clarkson, and Calvin Oftana.
The SBP, along with its partners Smart and PLDT, expressed confidence in the selected players and their ability to represent the Philippines with pride and determination. The team will undergo rigorous training and preparations in the coming months, including tune-up games and international tournaments, to fine-tune their skills and build chemistry.
