Guidelines Issued As Campaign Begins For BSKE
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has issued stern reminders and guidelines to candidates and their supporters as the official Campaign Period for the October 30, 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) commenced today, October 19, 2023.

Running for ten days, from October 19 to October 28, 2023, the period comes with strict rules to ensure fair and transparent elections in Intramuros, Manila, and across the nation.

In a statement released by, COMELEC emphasized the importance of adhering to applicable laws and regulations governing the campaign period.

The guidelines outlined several key points candidates and their supporters must observe, such as: campaign materials should be placed only in designated common poster areas; individual posters exceeding 2x3 feet, billboards, and posters violating gender sensitivity principles are strictly prohibited; candidates and their supporters are prohibited from giving or distributing anything of value during or after public meetings or campaign sorties; distribution of cash or in-kind assistance through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) is strictly prohibited from October 20, 2023, until Election Day on October 30, 2023, among others.

The COMELEC advised the public to remain vigilant and report any violations observed during the campaign period, ensuring a fair and democratic election process.
