Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe honored his late co-star, Michael Gambon, following Gambon's passing at the age of 82 on Thursday September 28,2023.
Radcliffe, who worked closely with Gambon during the filming of the beloved wizarding series, described the esteemed actor as "one of the most brilliant, effortless actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with."
Speaking to Variety, Radcliffe expressed his deep sorrow: "With the loss of Michael Gambon, the world just became considerably less fun."
He reminisced about Gambon's unique approach to acting, highlighting his immense talent while also emphasizing the joy he found in his work. "He was silly, irreverent, and hilarious," Radcliffe recalled. "He loved his job, but never seemed defined by it."
Radcliffe particularly cherished his time working with Gambon during the production of the sixth Harry Potter film.
Despite the challenges of filming against a green screen, Gambon's infectious spirit made the experience "more memorable and joyous than they had any right to be," Radcliffe said. "I’m so sad to hear he has passed, but I am so grateful for the fact that I am one of the lucky people who got to work with him."
