In response to a warning received via email, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has raised security levels at all 42 commercial airports across the country.

The email warned of potential bomb threats targeting aircraft bound for Puerto Princesa, Mactan-Cebu, Bicol, and Davao International Airports, originating from Manila.

While the information is currently being verified, immediate security enhancements are underway at all airports.

In a Memorandum issued by MGen. Ricardo C. Banayat, AFP (Ret.), Assistant Director General II of the CAAP Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS), measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and security of passengers, airport personnel, and facilities.

This includes increased security personnel, stringent access control, passenger and cargo inspections, and collaboration with security agencies.
