House Speaker Cites Executive-Legislative Unity In World Bank Growth Forecast of Philippines

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed his satisfaction with the latest World Bank forecast, which indicates that the Philippine economy is expected to grow faster than initially projected for this year. The World Bank has upgraded its GDP growth forecast for the Philippines from 5.4 percent to 6.0 percent, signifying a positive trajectory and affirming the country's recovery and progress.
Speaker Romualdez attributed this strong economic performance to the united efforts of the Executive and Legislative branches of the government. He praised the comprehensive and inclusive economic agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s administration and emphasized the collaborative endeavors between the Executive and Legislative branches, which have created an environment conducive to growth.
The Speaker commended the collective contributions of the country's economic managers, lawmakers, and all stakeholders who have played a part in this positive development. He reiterated the House of Representatives' commitment to passing legislation that will further enhance the country's economic growth and benefit every Filipino. Speaker Romualdez emphasized the importance of stimulating economic activity, attracting investments, and generating employment opportunities.
Despite potential distractions, Speaker Romualdez stated that the House remains steadfast in finding appropriate and timely solutions to the problems affecting the lives of the people. He highlighted the House's achievements in the First Regular Session of the 19th Congress, with the approval of 33 out of 42 bills listed as priority measures by President Marcos and adopted by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).
Under Speaker Romualdez's leadership, the House of Representatives successfully processed a significant number of measures, including 8,490 House bills, 1,109 resolutions, and one petition, totaling 9,600. This demonstrates the House's commitment to fulfilling its legislative duties and facilitating the country's progress.
