Iloilo City, Philippines - Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas has declared Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as persona non grata. This announcement comes after 80 Badjaos arrived at Dumanggas Port in Iloilo City earlier today from Bacolod City.

Expressing his disappointment in the lack of proper coordination on the part of Vice Mayor Familiaran, Mayor Treñas emphasized that as a leader himself, Familiaran should have observed proper measures and shown respect to other local government units (LGUs).

"I am very disappointed for the lack of proper coordination on the part of Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran regarding this matter. As a leader himself, he is expected to observe proper measures as a sign of respect to other LGUs," Mayor Treñas stated.

As the Chief Executive of Iloilo City, Mayor Treñas expressed his abhorrence toward such behavior and emphasized the need for accountability. He declared Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran persona non grata, and an executive order will be issued to enforce the decision.

This lack of coordination resulted in the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) being unable to adequately prepare for the arrival of the Badjaos, thereby hindering the services they could provide.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Familiaran took to Facebook to respond to Mayor Treñas' declaration. Familiaran posted the statement made by Mayor Treñas and expressed his disbelief at the actions and intelligence of the Iloilo City Government officials.

In his Facebook caption, Familiaran wrote, "RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT! Tani nag investigate ka anay antes ka nag PULOK PULOK!" which translates to "I hope you investigated before you made your hasty move!"

The situation between the two cities has caused tension and highlighted the importance of proper coordination and communication between LGUs when dealing with matters concerning the welfare of individuals and communities.

The declaration of Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as persona non grata by Mayor Jerry Treñas is expected to have significant implications for future interactions between the two cities, further highlighting the need for cooperation and respect among local government leaders.

The Iloilo City Government has yet to release any further statements regarding the situation, and it remains to be seen how this declaration will affect the relationship between Iloilo City and Bacolod City going forward.
