The Philippine National Police (PNP) will soon conclude its internal review to identify police officers with possible links to illegal drugs, according to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The review, which aims to purge the police force of officers involved in the illegal narcotics trade, is expected to be completed in two weeks.

During the 1st Joint National Peace and Order Council and Regional Peace and Order Council Meeting held in Malacanang, President Marcos emphasized the importance of careful consideration in identifying the officers involved in drug links. He called for a fair and just review process, acknowledging the complexity of the situation.

The President also appealed to the members of the PNP to work with the administration in its fight against illegal drugs, noting that the police force is the administration's partner in maintaining peace and order. He stressed the need for a credible and well-functioning police force in the country.

Meanwhile, Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. previously requested high-ranking police officers to submit their courtesy resignations as part of the administration's efforts to cleanse the police force of officers with drug links. A committee will review the records of all the police officers to determine those not involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
