The Korean Volleyball League Women's division is about to welcome another talented Filipina athlete, as Iris Tolenada, the skilled 5-foot-9 setter from F2 Logistics, gears up to join GS Caltex Seoul as their latest Asian quota import.

GS Caltex Seoul revealed the news on Friday that she would be replacing Soraya Phomla, a setter from Thailand, as their import player.

This transition marks a new chapter in the former V-League Best Setter's career, and she is eagerly looking forward to embracing the challenge of representing Seoul on the volleyball court. Tolenada's journey to secure a spot in the prestigious Korean league wasn't without hurdles. She was one of the six Filipino athletes who participated in the league's historic first-ever Asian quota draft.

Unfortunately, luck was not on her side during the initial draft, as she wasn't selected by any of the seven squads on that occasion. The only Filipina to secure a spot in the draft was MJ Phillips, who was skillfully picked by Gwangju AI Peppers in the fifth overall selection.

Previously, GS Caltex had initially chosen Medi Yoku, a talented outside hitter from Indonesia, as their Asian quota import. However, the team's decision to sign Tolenada indicates their belief in her skills and potential to make a significant impact on the court.

Despite her exciting new opportunity, Tolenada remains committed to her current team, as she is currently listed on the Cargo Movers' roster for the ongoing Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference.

The highly anticipated arrival of Iris Tolenada is scheduled for August, and fans are eager to witness her prowess as she takes on the challenge of playing in the competitive Korean Volleyball League Women's division.
