The Department of Education welcomed His Excellency Ilan Fluss, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel, in a courtesy call held at the department's headquarters yesterday.
During the meeting, Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her condolences for the lives lost in the ongoing conflict, acknowledging the bravery of Filipino compatriots who sacrificed their lives and the support provided by the Israeli government to the bereaved families, many of whom lost their primary breadwinners.
In her statement, Vice President Duterte reiterated the need for continuous support towards peaceful resolutions that protect innocent civilians, especially children, the most significant victims in such conflicts.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Philippines and Israel in the field of education. Discussions revolved around ongoing cooperation and mutual support for educational reforms within the Department, with the aim, she said, to build a stronger nation.
In her closing remarks, Vice President Duterte called upon the nation to remain steadfast in nurturing a patriotic and educated citizenry. She emphasized the importance of unity in advancing the Philippines as a nation devoted to God, country, and Filipino families.
