Israel Defense Forces Major General Itai Veruv has spoken out about the events that unfolded in Kfar Aza, where Hamas has taken hold on Saturday. In a video posted on X, Major General Veruv can be seen preparing journalists to enter the area.
"It's not a war, it's not a battlefield, it's a massacre," Major General Veruv said. He went on to describe the gruesome scene. "You see the babies, the mothers, the fathers, in their bedrooms, in their protection rooms, and how the terrorists killed them. It's not a war, it's not a battlefield. It's a massacre. It's a terrorist activity."
He continued, "It's something I have never seen in my life. It's something that we used to imagine, something from the times of our grandparents, the pogroms in Europe and other places. It's not something that happens in recent history."
Hamas denied that its militants killed children or attacked women. The militant group’s spokesman and senior official Izzat al-Risheq said the accusations were “fabricated and baseless allegations.”
Kfar Aza is one of the several small farming enclaves that Hamas has targeted on their attack in Israel.
