Jerusalem, Israel - Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war, citing a "murderous surprise attack" launched by Hamas.

In a video message uploaded to social media, Netanyahu outlined the severity of the situation and the measures being taken to ensure the security and safety of Israeli citizens.

"Citizens of Israel, We are at War," Prime Minister Netanyahu began, dispelling any notion that this conflict was merely an operation or a series of skirmishes. He continued, "This morning, Hamas launched a murderous surprise attack against the State of Israel and its citizens. We've been at it since early morning."

Netanyahu revealed that immediate action had been taken to address the threat, saying, "I convened the heads of the Security Cabinet. First of all, I instructed to cleanse the communities of the terrorists who had infiltrated. This operation is being carried out during these hours."

Simultaneously, the Prime Minister ordered an extensive reserve mobilization and promised a retaliatory war with an unprecedented level of force. "The enemy will pay a price he has never known," Netanyahu vowed, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

In his address, Netanyahu also urged all citizens of Israel to strictly obey the instructions of the army and the home front command, emphasizing the importance of unified action in the face of the ongoing conflict.

"We are at war, and we will win it," Prime Minister Netanyahu concluded, rallying the nation and setting the tone for what promises to be a challenging and critical period in Israel's history.
