The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released the 24-hour public weather forecast, providing valuable information to residents across the country.

As of 4:00 AM today, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continues to influence weather conditions in Mindanao, while a tropical depression remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The tropical depression is currently located approximately 2,510 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness reaching up to 55 kilometers per hour. It is moving northward at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour. While this tropical depression is not expected to directly affect the country, its movement will continue to be monitored by PAGASA.

In terms of weather conditions, areas including Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and Palawan can expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day. These conditions are primarily caused by the influence of the ITCZ. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious as moderate to heavy rains may result in possible flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. These localized thunderstorms, combined with the ITCZ's effect, may also lead to flash floods or landslides during severe weather conditions. Individuals in these areas should remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Regarding wind and coastal water conditions, Luzon will experience light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to south directions. The coastal waters in Luzon are expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters. Similarly, Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to south. Coastal waters in these regions will also be slight to moderate, with wave heights within the same range.

PAGASA advises the public, particularly those residing in the affected areas, to stay updated with the latest weather information and heed the advice of local authorities. By being informed and prepared, individuals can better protect themselves and their communities from potential weather-related risks.
