Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera has confirmed that former newscaster and talk show host, Jay Sonza, is currently incarcerated at the Quezon City Jail quarantine facility in Payatas. He is facing charges of Estafa and Syndicated & Large Scale Illegal Recruitment.

According to BJMP Spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera, "He is being linked to the name Jose Yumang Sonza by RTC Branch 100 in Quezon City. His case involves charges of Estafa, as well as Syndicated & Large Scale Illegal Recruitment."
