K-Pop fans are mourning the loss of Moon Bin, a member of the boy band Astro, who passed away at the age of 25 on Wednesday evening.
According to Korean entertainment news outlet Soompi, Moon Bin was found dead in his home in the Gangnam district of Seoul by his manager, who immediately called the police.
“We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death,” authorities of the Seoul Gangnam Police Station said in the report.
Astro's music label, Fantagio Music also announced the sudden passing of Moon Bin.
“On April 19, ASTRO member Moon Bin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky. Although it cannot be compared to the grief of the bereaved family who lost their beloved son and brother, the ASTRO members who have been with us for a long time, as well as our fellow Fantagio artists and staff, are deeply mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock,” Fantagio wrote in a statement in Korean.
Fantagio also requested that people refrain from spreading rumors or speculation about Moonbin's death, in respect of his family.
Moonbin debuted with Astro in 2016, along with Jinjin, MJ, Cha Eun-woo, Sanha, and Rocky.
He was known for his powerful vocals and sharp dance moves, and was also a talented actor.
