Kamille Cal, a 22-year-old volleyball playmaker, is leaving her collegiate journey at the University of the Philippines (UP) behind to begin her professional career with the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) team, Nxled.

Kamille's transition to the professional league is a significant milestone in her volleyball career, characterized by dedication, resilience, and a strong desire to excel.
After completing her residency at UP, she decided to turn pro due to challenges faced within the Fighting Maroons volleyball program during a significant team overhaul.

"It was truly a challenging time for everyone, with training postponed for about three months. I was feeling frustrated because a three-month break can significantly impact an athlete's progress," Cal candidly shared.

Faced with these setbacks, Kamille carefully considered her options and was drawn to the PVL, marking the next phase of her volleyball journey. She initially started her collegiate career at National University (NU) before moving to UP, where her dedication and hard work were evident. However, the winds of change led her toward professional leagues.

Now, as a member of the Nxled team, Kamille joins a strong roster that includes teammates like Dani Ravena, Cams Victoria, Lycha Ebon, Krich Macaslang, Chiara Permentilla, Rachel Jorvina, and Jho Maraguinot. Together, they are ready to take on the challenges of professional volleyball in the PVL.

Kamille's enthusiasm for the journey ahead is palpable. She recognizes that competing at the professional level will push her to reach new heights. "The higher the level, the greater the opportunity for growth. I'll be facing established teams and respected athletes, and that excites me because I know it will force me to become even better," she exclaimed.

Although leaving her comfort zone is daunting, Kamille is determined to pursue growth and excellence. She welcomes the challenges that await her, understanding that they are essential stepping stones on her path to success.

Before making the leap to the professional ranks, Kamille gained valuable experience by participating in ASEAN leagues alongside other collegiate players. Despite limited playing time, she was inspired by the high level of volleyball she encountered, fueling her desire for more significant opportunities and leading her to the PVL.

Kamille recently signed with Virtual Playground as a talent, acknowledging the agency's support and guidance in her career decisions, including contract negotiations and player management.
