In Korea, the nominees include the acclaimed actors and actresses who have led the K-drama craze throughout the year, such as Song Joong-ki, Lee Je-hoon, Yoon-ah, Park Eun-bin, and Song Hye-kyo. From China, Lai Ter-Chien, a former member of the group Wanna One, Wanghedi, the main character of "Meteor Garden," and Shuxin Yu, the heroine of "Love Between Fairy and Devil," will be competing. Thailand's nominee is Nichkhun from 2PM, while Japan's list features Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Kento Yamazaki, who are also well-known to Korean fans. The Outstanding Drama O.S.T category will see fierce competition as well, with notable nominees including Kim Ho-joong, who released his first OST with "Three Bold Siblings," and Baekhyun from the renowned group EXO, who sang the OST of "Dr. Romantic S3."

In response to the global rise in popularity of K-dramas and K-Pop, the organizers have introduced a new category this year, the "Idolchamp Artist Award." This award acknowledges idol actors and actresses who have contributed to the spread of Hallyu and ventured into the world of acting. Nominations include popular idols from groups such as ENHYPEN, PENTAGON, and Girls' Generation. Fans will be able to check the full list of candidates for all categories through the voting app "Idolchamp" starting from June 15.

The Seoul International Drama Awards, celebrating its 18th anniversary this year, is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS, and CBS.
